Day 98 : mile 2266, sheep lake

Excellent Lava spring was a highlight this morning, as was the abundance of huckberries. We climbed up this evening into the goat rocks wilderness.

Day 97 : mile 2242, Killen Creek

We stayed in the county park at Trout Lake last night, and got up for some delicious huckleberry pancakes and eggs at the cafe. A trail angel gave us a ride back out to the trailhead and we did a nice 15 miles around Mt Adams.

Day 100 : mile 2292, White Pass

We had a short walk down to white pass this morning and then got a room at the lodge here. The reaupply at the Kracker Barrel is ok, but a little expensive.

Day 96 : mile 2226, Trout Lake

We hiked through the Indian Heaven wilderness on our way to forest road 23, where we hitched into Trout Lake. A nice logger picked us up after about 30 minutes.

Day 95 : mile 2205, Junction Lake

We finally made it out of the low forest today, and were rewarded with views of hood and adams. I found a porcini this afternoon to go with strogonf and WA made a strong play for huckleberry champion this evening at camp.

Day 94 : mile 2183, august 2nd

Andrea made me a nice birthday hat for our walk today. Trout Creek was a nice place for a break.

Day 93 : mile 2164, rock creek

Andrea and I had our first full hiking day today. It was great! We hiked 15 miles to rock creek and the went swimming and hung out for the rest of the afternoon.
